If you're ready to lose abdominal fat quickly and carve out your mid section to expose a set of sexy six pack
abs, then you probably already understand the importance of shedding body fat. While there certainly are a
lot of infomercial's running these days that claim that you can burn fat only in your abdominal area, the truth is
that spot reduction just does not work.
Lowering Your Overall Body Fat Level Is
The Only Way To Lose Abdominal Fat!
In order to lose fat around your abdominals, you need to focus on lowering your overall body fat level, rather
than simply performing hundreds of ab exercises and hours of boring cardio. If your goal is to get six pack abs,
then you need to lower your overall body fat percentage to somewhere between 6% - 12%. It really just depends on
how your body holds fat. For me, my upper abs don't pop out until I'm at about 9% and my lower abs don't even
make an appearance until I drop below 6%!
It's important to realize that it takes an incredible amount of energy to
lower my body fat to 6%. It's not an easy thing to do and I don't pretend to walk around in my day to
day life at 6% body fat - it's just not realistic for me! That said, whenever I have a vacation or
wedding or any other type of event where I want to look my best, I'll ramp up my efforts to lose abdominal fat and get into to top six pack ab shape.
I just want to make it clear that it's not realistic for most people to expect to be able to maintain shredded
six pack abs year-round. A lot of people have the misconception that it's easy to maintain really low body fat once
you "get there". Based on my experiences that's just not true...unless you make the steps you took to lower your
body fat in the first place a dedicated lifestyle choice.
Some people can do this - I can't. I like to let loose a bit and enjoy eating pizza, philly cheese steaks
and drinking a beer now and then. I've found that I can reasonably maintain a body fat level below 10% year round
(usually in the 9% - 75 range). This allows me to stay in excellent shape and still be able to see my upper
abs pretty well while allowing me to actually live a lifestyle that I enjoy. This also allows me to lose abdominal
fat and get into fully exposed six pack mode within a few weeks if I really want to.

While the simple advice "move more and eat less" definitely works for stripping away body fat, most people
would prefer a step by step plan for making the body fat disappear. Below is a step by step list of my favorite
tips to help you lose abdominal fat fast. If you really want to get a six pack, then read through each of these fat
burning tips and get an understanding of what it really takes to shed body fat and expose a stunning set of six
pack abs quickly and naturally.
Lose Abdominal Fat By Implementing These Easy Steps...
#1. Lose abdominal fat quickly by taking the time to calculate your target calorie
intake. Once you "run the numbers" start to slowly create a calorie deficit by decreasing the amount of calories
you consume each day. I recommend lowering your calorie intake by 250 - 500 calories a day to begin with. A
250 - 500 calorie a day deficit is enough to start burning body fat and make a noticeable change in the way your
body looks.
#2. Another way you can move towards losing abdominal fat is by spacing out your meals
throughout the day. Once you know your target calorie value and you've decreased it by 250 - 500 calories, divide
the total calorie value by 6 in order to break it up into 6 meals. This is the number of calories that you
need to be eating in each of your 6 daily meals. Space each of your meals out evenly throughout the day so
that your body has a steady supply of nutrients to help you build some muscle mass and stay lean.
#3. The next step in the fat burning process is to put your metabolism boosting fat burning
meals together and plan out what you intend to eat each day for the upcoming week. This is the area where I
see most of my clients struggle. They know exactly what they need to eat (the types of foods) and they have a
general idea o of how much they should be eating and when they should eat it, but most of them don't have the time
to figure out exactly what they are going to eat each week and then learn how to make it taste decent.

#4. If you simply stop drinking soda, juice and energy drinks and start drinking water
instead, you'll be amazed at how quickly you'll start to lose abdominal fat. So make it a habit to drink a
bunch of water each day and stay away form sugar loaded juices and sodas.
#5. Another great way to get your metabolism ramped up and start melting off abdominal
fat is to hit the weights for 45 minutes 3 - 4 times each week. Not only does weight training stimulate muscle
growth, but it burns an amazing amount of calories - even more than cardio. So a great way to increase your
calorie deficit without cutting out too many calories is focus on weight training workouts that are comprised of
heavy compound exercises.
#6. In between your weight training workouts, perform some form of aerobic exercise for
20 - 30 minutes a minimum of 3 times each week. You don't need to go crazy with the intensity, but you do need to
make it a habit to fit in your cardio regularly. Regular cardio will help you to create even more of a calorie
deficit which will help you lose abdominal fat even quicker.
That's really all it takes to lose abdominal fat (or fat all over your body) and to expose your abs. If
