Why I Like Optimum 100 Whey

Optimum 100 whey protein is one of my favorite protein
supplements hands down! Not only does it contain some very high quality muscle building protein that mixes
well and tastes great, but the price is affordable for day to day "utility protein" use.
Optimum Nutrition 100 whey blend is one of the only commercially available whey protein blends that I
actually use. When it comes to whey protein supplements (and especially whey protein blends),not only are
there a lot of options to choose from, but the reality of the situation is that most of the blends contain
very low quality whey protein - the type of whey protein that really won't do much in the way of helping you
pack on muscle mass!
While I'd like to be able to tell you that all of the top whey protein blends are worth
spending your hard earned money on, it's just not the truth. Many of the "best selling" whey blends completely
mislead consumers by blending low grade (and very cheap - think coffee creamer powder) with a very
small amount of high quality whey concentrate and isolate.

#2 - Another thing I like about 100 whey protein is the fact that it contains digestive
enzymes like AMINOGEN and LACTASE. These enzymes help your body break down and utilize the high quality protein
more efficiently than it could alone. This is huge - I mean what good is high quality protein if it's just moving
through your system and ant being absorbed?
#3 - Whenever I'm analyzing a whey protein blend, I like to take a close look at the

I've tried over the years, it seemed that you had to sacrifice the flavor and consistency of your protein for the
quality. Whenever I've tried to go up a level in the purity of the protein, the flavor gets a bit nastier. Some of
this is just due to the hydrolyzation process, I get that..but after a few weeks, it's awfully hard to choke it
down any more!
It just tastes better than any other whey protein supplement I've
ever used. Because of the great flavor, I actually look forward to drinking it and this usually allows me to
get more protein into my body throughout the day, which in turn leads to more muscle growth.
Anyone who tells you that the don't care what their protein tastes like is being less than honest with
you. Sure some of the "hard-core" muscle heads can force themselves to chug down their plain hydrolyzed whey
protein and actually manage to keep it down, but it just wares on you over time. Why put yourself through this when
you don't have to. you really don't build too much more muscle in the long run any way.

Let's face it, there are a thousand elements that are all more critical to the muscle building process
than choosing a whey protein supplement, but it's a fact that when used properly and intelligently, whey protein
can help you build a lot of muscle mass. I use optimum 100 whey protein in a few different ways...
#1 - For an everyday, in between meal protein source that allows me to get in a lot of extra
protein without having to choke down 10 chicken breasts a day. In this capacity I typically only take 1 - 3 scoops
a day. I really try to focus on eating a lot of whole food protein sources, but typically i need an
infusion of supplemental protein to meet my daily requirement.
#2 - As part of a pre-workout muscle building meal that prepares my body for an intense workout
and allows my muscles to begin repairing the damage immediately. As far as the pre-workout meal goes, I take 1
scoop of optimum 100 whey protein and a banana about an hour before my workout and another scoop 20 minutes before
I get things going. I started doing this about a year ago and I feel that it has been responsible for some
amazing muscle growth!
I don't use optimum 100 whey protein as a post workout supplement, but only because I prefer either pure
hydrolyzed whey protein or whey isolate after training. There's nothing wrong with taking a scoop or 2 after
your workouts, I just prefer a pure isolate. It's faster acting than a blended protein supplement, and my post
workout recovery meal is just too important to me - I don't care how much I like the blend!
